Thomas Adam, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024, at the age of 93, in Jersey. Born on July 28, 1931, in Bayonne, Thomas lived a full and admirable life marked by dedication to his family, his country, and his community.
A proud veteran, Thomas served his nation with honor during the Korean War. His commitment to service continued in his professional life as he became Director of Public Works for the City of Bayonne and later as a Supervisor for the Housing Authority. His educational journey, began at Saint Peter's College and culminated in a Masters in Business Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Thomas was a man of many talents and interests. His love for woodwork and knack for solving crossword puzzles were well-known among his friends and family. He was also a math whiz and a practical handyman, always ready to fix anything that needed repair. Thomas found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing on his son's boat, where he shared laughter and stories with loved ones. A scotch connoisseur, he appreciated the finer notes of a well-aged single malt.
Music held a special place in Thomas's heart. He enjoyed singing and had a particular fondness for the crooners of his era, often serenading his family with classic tunes that would bring warmth and joy to any gathering. His voice was not just a source of entertainment, but a symbol of the love and generosity that he extended to everyone around him.
Thomas was a fantastic grandfather and great-grandfather, whose presence was a gift to his grandchildren, Thomas, David, Victoria, and Laura. He leaves behind a legacy of love and generosity, as well as a family that adores him, including his devoted wife, Ann Adam; his son, Thomas Adam Jr. and daughter-in-law, Barbara Adam. He was predeceased by his son, Edward Adam. His niece, Carol Albizati, along with numerous other nieces and nephews, will fondly remember their Uncle Thomas for his kind heart and helpful nature.
Those who knew Thomas would describe him as loving, generous, and incredibly handy. He was a man who built his life on the foundation of strong family values, a robust work ethic, and an unwavering sense of community. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched.
