Robert Sheehan

Robert "Bobby" Sheehan, aged 74, a long-time resident of Bayonne, NJ, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, after a hard fought battle with cancer. Born on March 9, 1951, in Jersey City, Bobby was a man with a formidable presence. 

He spent over two decades working diligently for the city of Bayonne's Department of Public Works, where he was not only a dedicated employee but also a friend to many.

An avid sports enthusiast, Bobby's love for the Denver Broncos was well-known and infectious. He could often be found cheering on his favorite team, sharing his passion and knowledge of the game with anyone who would listen. His love for the outdoors was evident through his hobbies; Bobby was a skilled fisherman and crabber, finding peace and solace in the tranquility of nature. His happiest moments were those spent by the water, rod in hand, surrounded by the beauty of the Jersey shores.

Bobby was predeceased by his loving parents, Joseph and Helen Sheehan; his brother, Joseph Sheehan; and his sister, Susan Fiuza. Bobby is survived by his children, Robert and his wife Nicole, and Michael; his granddaughters, Peyton and Madison; and his sisters, Joyce Clark and Kathy Fiuza. Bobby also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Dad always said, life is all about making memories and trying to make the most of it. He will be deeply missed but remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Rest in peace, Dad, until we meet again. "Dig that"

For many years, Bobby generously supported St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause close to his heart. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude in his name.

A memorial service will take place Thursday, January 29, 4-6 PM at Caiola-Stellato Funeral Home, 691 Avenue C, Bayonne.
