It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Joseph Augustyniak, who left this world on June 29, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on August 26, 1942, in Bayonne, NJ to Marion & Jean (nee Stasiulatis) Augustyniak, Michael cherished his New Jersey roots throughout his life as a lifelong Bayonne resident.
Michael was a dedicated professional and a familiar face at Sealand, where he navigated the complex field of hazardous commodities as a manager. His unwavering commitment to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family and friends. His love of the outdoors was reflected in his longtime membership in the Bayonne Nature Club.
Michael was predeceased by his beloved wife, Theresa (nee Coseglio) Augustyniak, whose love, unwavering support, and companionship were the foundation of their life together. He was a proud father to his son Michael Augustyniak and daughter Melissa & her husband Vito Destito, who will carry on his legacy. Michael also took great joy in being a grandfather to his beloved grandchildren, Lauren, Emily, and Lexi. He is also survived by his cherished sisters, Nancy Spiers and Karen Fitzpatrick, who remember him fondly as a loving brother and a source of strength. Michael's warmth, wisdom, and kindness touched the lives of everyone who knew him, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
In honor of Michael's life, visitation will be held on Wednesday 4-8 PM. Funeral Thursday 9 AM from the Caiola-Stellato Funeral Home, 691 Avenue C, Bayonne. Funeral mass 10 AM St Mary Star of the Sea R.C. Church. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Michael Joseph Augustyniak will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his generous spirit, his laughter, and the love he so freely shared. May he rest in peace.
