Hipolito Castro

Hipolito "Polo" Castro, a cherished husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully due to natural causes on December 10, 2025, in Jersey City, NJ, at the age of 93. He was born on January 29, 1932, in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico.

He was employed at Steelcraft in Newark, NJ for over 40 years.

Polo is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Victoria Castro, who stood by his side as a beacon of love and partnership. Together, they built a family and a legacy that will continue to thrive through their children and grandchildren. He was a devoted father to his daughter Maggie Maczak and her husband Michael, and to his son Robert Castro and his wife Takisha and his sons Willie and Edwin. He was also a grandfather to Valerie, Vanessa, Kevin, and Robbie.

Polo could often be found surrounded by his family, sharing stories and laughter over a game of dominoes. His sense of humor was infectious.

As we bid farewell to Hipolito "Polo" Castro, we celebrate his long life and the moments that he brought happiness to those around him. His memory will be a comforting presence for all who loved him.
