Gela Mateo, a beacon of love and laughter, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025, in Jersey City, NJ, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Born on September 28, 1970, in Iloilo City, Philippines, Gela's radiant spirit and kind heart touched everyone she met.
Gela's early years in the Philippines were filled with joy and a passion for learning. She pursued her dreams with dedication and graduated with a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from De Ocampo Memorial Colleges in Manila. Her caring nature and bright smile were a comfort to all her patients, and she brought light and laughter into every life she touched.
Though Gela's career was cut short by her devotion to her family, she embraced her role as a housewife and mother with the same fervor and love she applied to all her endeavors. Her son, William, was the center of her world, and she nurtured him with a boundless love that only a mother could give. Her home was always filled with warmth, and her presence was a sanctuary of kindness.
Gela's interests extended beyond her home as she found solace and expression in arts and crafts. Her creativity knew no bounds, and she could often be found surrounded by a colorful array of projects that brought joy to those around her. Gela's hands were rarely still, as she poured her heart into every creation, leaving a legacy of beauty for her family and friends to cherish.
