In Loving Memory of Immaculate Faith Prekel
With a heart full of love and a spirit that enriched the lives of all she encountered, Immaculate Faith Prekel, affectionately known as “Faith” or “Bubbi”, was called to her heavenly home on October 18, 2025, at the age of 86.
Faith was born and raised in the Bronx, NY by her loving parents, Florence and Amerigo “Eddie” Napoli. The eldest of three, she was a proud big sister to her brothers, Ronald Napoli and the late Anthony Napoli. She often spoke fondly of her childhood - growing up in the Bronx and spending summers at Lake Carmel, NY, with her large, Italian family, where the door was always open, and the home was filled with love, laughter, and the comforting aromas of a home-cooked meal. As a native New Yorker, Faith was a passionate Yankees fan, often waiting after the games as a young girl, collecting autographs and taking pictures. Those formative years shaped her into the woman she would later become putting family first above all.
Faith met her husband George in 1965, while both were working at the Western Union Telegraph Company in Manhattan. They married a few years later in June of 1968, and began their life together in Little Falls, NJ. In 1969, they moved to Agawam, MA, where they bought their first home together. As much as they loved their home in Massachusetts, in 1972, George was offered an opportunity to transfer back to New Jersey, where they settled into their forever home on Colfax Road in Wayne - where they raised their sons, George and John.
Faith was one of the greatest cooks, though she would always insist that her mother was the best. She aspired to follow in her footsteps. Faith’s meals were legendary - cherished by all family and friends, not only because they were delicious, but because they were made with love. Her Christmas cookies were a highlight of the season. She would stay up late into the night baking to make enough cookies to share with everyone she knew, followed by the abundant feast of the Seven Fishes on Christmas Eve. She loved the holidays, decorating her home into a winter wonderland full of Christmas spirit, and hosting the family’s Easter celebration yearly, preparing weeks in advance, welcoming family and friends for a feast to remember.
In retirement, Faith spent the winter months in Stuart, FL, where she loved socializing, relaxing in the sun, and hosting family and friends who came to visit. She also cherished time spent at the family farm in Van Etten, NY - two special places that brought her great joy.
Faith welcomed everyone with open arms and a warm smile. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and cherished watching them grow. The time shared was a blessing and brought her endless happiness.
Faith is survived by her loving husband, George; her sons, George and John, along with their wives Alyson and Kim. She cherished her five grandchildren - Maxwell, Jackson, and Charlotte (children of George and Alyson) and Finley and Willow, (children of John and Kim). She is also survived by her brother, Ronald Napoli and his wife Nancy.
Faith will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her love, laughter, and warmth will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
